Getting started

Watchalong is in invite-only beta. There is no public signup. Every account starts with an invite email.

Request access

If your team isn't on Watchalong yet, open Request access from the sign-in page. Fill in your name, your work email, your organisation and, if you like, a note on who you'd send walkthroughs to and what about. Then press Send request.

The request goes to our inbox. If it's a fit, we create your organisation and email the first owner an invite.

Accept the owner invite

The invite email has the subject "{name} invited you to {organisation} on Watchalong". Press Accept the invite. The link works for 7 days and only once.

The page shows the organisation, who invited you, and the address the invite went to. That address is your sign-in email, and you can't change it here.

If you're new to Watchalong

  1. Enter your name.
  2. Choose a password of at least 8 characters, and type it again to confirm.
  3. Press Join {organisation}.

If you already have a Watchalong account

Enter your existing password and press Join {organisation}. Your account doesn't change. You gain a membership in the new organisation. If you've forgotten the password, use Forgot password? on the same page.

Either way, you're signed in and land on your walkthroughs list, with the new organisation selected.

If the link has expired or was already used, the page says "This invite has expired". Ask the person who invited you to send a new one. Sending a new invite cancels the old link.

Sign in with your email and password. Watchalong keeps you signed in on that browser until you sign out.

  • After five wrong tries in a minute, wait a minute and try again.
  • Forgot password sends a reset link to your email. The link works for 60 minutes. Choosing a new password signs you in.
  • To sign out, open the menu under your name at the top right and choose Sign out. There's also a Sign out button on the Settings page.

Switch organisation

You can belong to more than one organisation, for example your own consultancy and a client's product team. When you do, an organisation switcher appears in the header next to the Watchalong name. It shows the current organisation. Open it to see every organisation you belong to and your role in each, then pick one. The page reloads in that organisation.

If you belong to one organisation, you won't see the switcher at all.

Walkthroughs, sessions and files never cross between organisations. What you see always belongs to the organisation selected in the header.
